This is very informal. The shoots are generally on the second Saturday of the month and start at 10 am. However, this is subject to change (especially during the winter), so make sure that the shoot is on before showing up at Golden Gun Club.  If you would like to join in, send me an email ( and I will make sure that you are contacted prior to the next shoot.

The next muzzle loading shotgun shoot will be June 8, 2013 at 10 am.   The shoot will be at Golden Gun Club.

We are going to try some sporting clays this month.  The sporting clays course at Golden Gun Club is a little spread out.  You will need to be able to carry your loading supplies from station to station.   We will probably only shoot a couple of sporting clays stations and then head back to trap range.

It will be interesting to see everyone’s approach carrying the supplies.  It will be like hunting!

Hope to see you all June 8.

On October 13, 2012  we had a change of pace and shot the Colorado State Muzzleloading Skeet Championships. This event was not officially sanctioned by any authority, but I liked the title.   There were both novice and open classes.  The novice class will include 16 single birds, so that it can be shot with a single barrel muzzleloader.   Kim Davis shot his first 25 straight round with a muzzle loader to win the open class.   As is traditional we shot Kim's had to celebrate his first 25 straight.
